9. Comparison between SBT-810-BBM-C1 and other Bluetooth Modules

Requirements

 SBT-810-BBM-C1

Other Bluetooth Modules

Deep Knowledge and understanding of Bluetooth Communication Protocols

No need

Need at least a full month

Develop and debug embedded Bluetooth software

No need

Need at least three (3) months

Bluetooth Communication stacks

No need of higher level of Bluetooth stacks

Need to license higher level of Bluetooth stacks, such as L2CAP, RFCOMM, etc.

Hardware Interfaces

Standard interface: RS-232, RS-485. Require only a simple 3.3V to 5V level shift circuit in order to connect the module to an equipment through in RS-232 serial port with RXD, TXD, RTS, and CTS lines.

One can not direct connect the UART to any data collection equipment. Level shift circuit and other circuits are required and proper drivers and communication protocols (such as serial comm) has to be developed, respectively

Embedded CPU

Contains a 16-bit CPU to handle interface and application software

Either need expensive development tool and software to access the internal CPU or need a host CPU

Data Collection Function

Contains an A/D converter for analog-to-digital data collection

Require an extra A/D converter

Plug-and-Play

Yes

Need to design a hosting PCB for the module
